A Charter for Clapham In Cricket Club
Cricket is a big place.
As a truly global game with millions of supporters and players on every continent, it is big enough to have room for everyone. There are as many kinds of players as there are kinds of people. And every player – every person – deserves respect.
At Clapham In CC, we play a brand of cricket that doesn’t distinguish by age, race, creed, sexuality or gender (or cricketing ability, for that matter!) There is no place for exclusion or racism in this sport.
And so – we try to make the experience of being part of our club as positive as we can for everyone foolish/brave enough to put their name down on the teamsheet.
We welcome anyone – and everyone – to take part in the game that we love, in the hope that they will love it as much as we do.
Playing cricket has made our lives immeasurably richer, and people of all backgrounds and all communities should have the chance to participate.
2021 was our first season with a dedicated club charity and it feels more important than ever that we broaden the reach of the game. That is why we’re continuing to support Chance to Shine throughout the 2022 season.
It’s our sport too – not just the big clubs and national teams – and anything we can do to strengthen the fabric of our cricket community can make a difference.
