The 2019 season was wrapped up nicely by an excellent day/night celebrating and drinking (responsibly of course) at the wonderful Old China Hand. There was the usual AGM to start, where committee positions for the 2020 season were ratified without any Brexit (or Megxit) style political drama. Next up was the upcoming fixtures discussion which, in terms of their locations, will hopefully reflect the fact we have players based all over London. There was a quiz based on the club, which was so ludicrously difficult that multiple choice and full on guesses were the only way to go. Then there was the evening’s main attraction, the world premiere of Goodrich: Or Die Tryin’, a 40 minute film made by Josh Shinner, Jon Stern and Alex Whaley showing the trials and tribulations of CICC’s annual pilgrimage to Herefordshire. Sadly, due to about 47 copyright violations the film cannot be uploaded to the site, however if you fancy a laugh and plenty of Village Cricket at it’s best (worst) send us a message. Finally there was some darts played, though I’m not sure anyone can really remember too much of that. Well done to the award winners and a huge thanks to all players for attending, it was so great to see such a good turnout with plenty of new faces. Bring on 2020!
