The long-suffering souls of Clapham In CC took a break from endless Teams calls and Powerpoint presentations to gather together on a completely different Zoom call this winter, with completely different Powerpoint presentations.
Their purpose: to celebrate the end of the 2020 season, to recognise those who had excelled in the few matches that the club were able to play, and to endure the capricious justice of the Fines Masters’ final accounting. (And to get drunk, let’s not forget that.)
In a season that didn’t go at all to plan, there were some stand-out performances from CICC players old and new worth a mention. Several new players joined Clapham during this shortened season and announced themselves in fine style, while some of the old guard showed they can still make valuable contributions.
And everyone was just happy to get out of the house.
